Forgettable

I graduated from elementary school with honors (1st honorable mention, which is next to salutatorian) but with nothing in high school because of a teacher named Esperanza Cano.  She was my teacher in Literature (3rd year).  She was a boring person, walks slow and talks slow. too.  All we did in her period was read poems and interpret these one line after another.  She gave us a special assignment, sort of a project where she instructed us to be very ' brief and concise'.  So I wrote a one-page homework, and she gave me a failing grade for that.  To cut a long story, I got a 79 for that quarter.  My only 'line of seven' in all quarters of my 4 years in high school.  I am running for honors again in high school (though not the Top 3 posts), been in the Principal's List several times, until this event with Madam Cano happened.  In UST High School, you cannot graduate with honors once you get a grade below 80.  I tried to talk to her about it but she did not entertain my queries.  She did not even show me the computation of my grades because as she said "It's confidential."  This was one of those times when your vision gets blurry and would want to smash the face in front of you.  Yet, I kept my cool, cursed her silently and walked out of the faculty room thinking of how to get even with her.  No more 'running for honors' status. That was a 'blessing in disguise' for me because when you're already in 4th year, if you are a contender for the 'honors', you are required to be a President of a school organization or club AND an officer of another one.  I hate clubs.  I hate extra-curricular activities.  I hate going to school outside school hours, especially weekends.  Thank you, and no thank you, Madam Cano!
