In the field of healthcare, I think the Top 3 ways to 'contaminate' our primary target market are:
1. Be professional. Come on time, refrain from making loose talk and unsolicited advice, don't backstab other people especially colleagues, look presentable and appropriate whenever possible, listen when people are talking (especially when our patients are the ones talking). People will LIKE you.
2. Be visible. Do more rounds, have more clinic days or duties in the hospital, attend conferences and functions more often especially those involving people inferior to us in the healthcare business like the residents, nurses, students, paramedics, and of course the most important, laymen. They are the ones who refer patients to you, not the more senior doctors or those who have higher positions than you. People will ACCEPT you.
3. Smile. This is the most contagious of all the 'body languages'. Do not be so smart and sophisticated-looking. People will LOVE you.
4. (Optional)Render your services for FREE once in a while! This will kill your competitors. So who is left? YOU!
